While the FMCG sector within UAE is growing at a slower pace, NFPC has displayed a strong performance across major metrics through our product portfolio. This was earmarked by aggressive competitive activity against the backdrop of declining consumer spends and changing purchasing habits. The overall decline in the shopping behavior comes with the fact that consumers are more inclined to focus on good deals as they are actively looking for special promotions across categories for their regular shopping necessities.
As NFPC moves into its next phase, we are proud to announce our Mega Plant at KIZAD where all our manufacturing sites will be consolidated by modernising and automating the process, resulting in productivity gains. The proximity of the site to Khalifa Port will deliver advantages for the import of raw and packaging materials, as well as for the export of finished goods.
The facility has manufacturing, warehousing and offices spread over 750,000 square meters, which is expected to be ready by 2020. The Mega Plant is equipped with the most advanced technology, fully integrated manufacturing and warehousing with laser guided vehicles (LGV). NFPC is also going bullish on exports, with an aim to increase contribution to total sales by double-digit.
The year is exciting as well since we introduce the Oasis Tetrapak and the new additions to the Lacnor family- Laban, Smoothie and the High Protein Milk. These new additions would be ready and available at store shelves by first half of the year.
We started our year with a big bang, announcing the launch of the Region’s 1st Boxed Drinking Water under our flagship brand Oasis. The environmentally friendly packaging material from Tetra Pak, boasts recyclable properties and is largely comprised of materials that are renewably sourced. Besides this, we are also proud to announce the launch of Lacnor Smoothies, Lacnor High Protein Milk and Lacnor Laban.
